Company Girl!

This year as part of the Nutcracker auditions, Margaret had the chance to audition to join the Ballet Northwest "Company" of dancers.  BNW has the proud tradition of being the oldest continuous dance company in Washington--having been formed even before Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle!  It includes dancers, age 12 and up, who form the core of the Nutcracker and the spring production.  It's quite a big deal, and involves lots of additional "master's classes" throughout the year as well as more rehearsals for the shows.  We had been warned that only a small percentage of the 12 year olds make it in on their first try, so were trying to keep our hopes/expectations in perspective.  But all of Margaret's hard work over the years has paid off, and she is now an official BNW Company girl!  We are so proud!

Oh, and by the way, she was cast as part of the Sugar Plum Court for this year's Nutcracker production.  More pink tutus and tiaras!

Yeah Margaret!! I love these two pictures. I think she will forever stay the little girl in the picture though. I remember her so well at that age! :)
