Spring Break

Over spring break the girls decided they wanted me to do "curly hair" for them. Caroline had never had ringlets, so we dolled her up the night before her birthday. Margaret, an old pro at ringlets, has grown her hair so long now that it took FOREVER to get it all up in rollers!

Jeff and I took Caroline and her best friend Kat to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry) in Portland to celebrate Caroline's birthday on Tuesday. The featured exhibit was "Space," and we all enjoyed the planetarium show too.

Margaret got her first chance at theater camp this spring break. Friday night was the grand finale performance of "Under the Big Top" in which Margaret had roles as a hunter (shown here), and a monkey in two separate scenes. She seemed to really enjoy herself, and is interested in doing more theater this summer. Stay tuned for the next show...

catching up...our own March madness...

Where did March go? After all the Easter guests left this afternoon, and I took a short nap, I was feeling rejuvenated enough to load a month's worth of pictures from my cameras onto the computer and realized how far behind I'd gotten in postings to the blog. Here's a quick recap...

After the trip to the ocean, we got a hankerin' for a CRAB feed. We got some King crab legs and whole dungeness crabs. Yuuuummmmmmmmm!

Ta da! The finished projects. Caroline's dinosaur exhibit and Margaret's finished cross

St. Patrick's Day wasn't the same without Dad (he was in D.C. on a work trip), but we sent him our St. Paddy's Day wishes by email photos. This year the leprachans tied the girls into their beds with green yarn, spray-painted my hair green while I was sleeping, played tricks on one of the girls' dolls, trapped Daddy into a television dreamland (aka Leprachan TV), and delivered Lucky Charms & Apple Jacks for breakfast...

We also had the girls' spring concert at school. Margaret played her first flute solo in the band, and both her class and Caroline's class performed fun renditions of Broadway songs with their classes. I forgot the camera (bad Mommy), but it was a memorable evening nevertheless.
Moving on to early April:
Rehearsal for the big night -- Saturday morning before the Easter Vigil, we had a run-through at the church.
