Caroline is Pumpkin Spice and Margaret is a Genie. What amazing weather we had tonight--lots of spooky fog and very warm--perfect for a night of trick or treating. We started early by going over to Grandma Gail's neighborhood. The girls trick-or-treated with their friend Chloe (the leopard). Grandma Gail even put her cat Jewel in costume! Jewel was not impressed... Later, we moved to Chloe's neighborhood and joined Chloe's sister Alaina and friend for a few more houses. It was a great evening--just enough candy and excitement to be fun but not over the top.

The Halloween Parade
This afternoon at school the girls had their annual Halloween parade and class parties. Each year, the K-3rd graders parade through the K-5 classrooms then return to their own room for some treats and Halloween fun. This was Margaret's last year getting to dress up for school--sigh, it really does go quickly. Here are two quick clips from the parade and a couple other shots.

Carvin' party with the Barrettes
Tonight we had a grand time carving our pumpkins with our friends the Barrettes. They brought cool pumpkin designs/ patterns and carving tools--way more advanced than we've tried in the past. Margaret carved a spooky bat family on her pumpkin and Caroline stuck with a traditional face. Both with very little help from us this year! Of course the highlight of the entire evening was the whoopie pies brought for dessert by Margaret B. YUMMY!

BOO!
Margaret has decided to try her hand at blogging. Since Caroline is pretty busy with her own camera right now, we lent Margaret our camera and turned her loose to take pictures. Here's her first blog entry:

CAUTION! The poison, purple tarantula is trying to get you! But,do not worry,it can not get you. It can not even get out of the pitcure.

Yes, please do!

Are you scared?

Remodel update -- nearing completion!
Mostly this post is for Jeff, who is out of town and probably dying to see the progress that is being made on the finishing touches of our remodeling project. These past couple weeks we've had the tiling finished in the entry and the fireplace, the countertop added to the coffee station, the dining room cabinets hung, and the attic ladder installed. We're getting SO CLOSE to being done! Yeah!

YES!
After eagerly waiting a whole week after the auditions, Margaret learned last weekend she had been cast in the Ballet Northwest's Nutcracker! It was quite a thrill for her to find her name up on the cast list. She'll be a toy soldier and starts her first rehearsal this weekend. We are very proud and very excited for her!
